TO TEST YOUR SECURITY SYSTEM AND MONITORING

Chubb/Secure Services Conversion to Alarm Center 07/8/02

QUICK REFERENCE

1.)    Determine your account number

2.)    Call the Alarm Center to put your system on test

3.)    Arm the system

4.)    Fault a Zone – Alarm siren should sound

5.)    Silence the Alarm – Let ring 10 seconds

6.)    Reset/Clear memory on your system - optional

7.)    Call back the Alarm Center verify receipt of your signal and take system out of test

8.)    Update your emergency contact list

1.      Determine your new system or account number: *

(*note this is not the same as your billing or customer number):

If your Old Account was 46-1234 or G420-1234

Then your New Account number is 518-1234

2.   Call The Alarm Center @ 1-800-752-2490 (make a note of the operator number)

Tell them you would like to put your system on test for one hour.  Give them your account number and they will verify that with your name and address.  They will then ask you for your password.  Your password should be the same as your original password with Secure Services / Chubb.  If it is not the same or the password is not known, it will be the same as your account number. For example, if your account number is 518-1234, then your password is 518-1234.  Advise other occupants or family members of the test because the alarm will sound.

After testing the system as outlined below, we suggest that you change the password from your account number to a word or a name or other number you will remember.

3.   Arm The System – It is best to test the system with the “instant” or “stay” feature.

(Otherwise you would have to wait for the exit/entry delay times to expire for the system to arm and or alarm).

4.   Fault A Zone – Open a protected door or window that would put the system into alarm.

Allow the system to alarm for at least a count of 5.

5.   Silence The Alarm – Enter your access code to disarm the system.

6.   Reset / Clear Memory  (optional)

If your system is not reset back to normal, i.e. keypad is flashing indicating “alarm memory”, see your users manual because this feature varies from panel to panel.  Most panels clear this condition the next time the system is armed and disarmed.

7.   Call Back to The Alarm Center – (1-800-752-2490)

Ask for the original operator you first spoke with. (If that operator is not available any other operator can assist you).  Give them your name and account number for the system and ask if they received the alarm signal.  If so, what zone and description was the alarm.  Does everything appear to be normal?  If everything is OK and you are done testing, ask them to put your system back on line (take system out of test).  If for some reason your system fails to work after the changeover date, Pro-Comm will provide you with a courtesy no-charge service call.

8.   Update the Emergency Contact List – Have names, phone numbers and passwords. *

It is very important that this information be updated as people, phone numbers and passwords change or need to be added. * (Does anyone have a new cell phone?).

Re:              Alarm Monitoring changes

Dear Valued Customer,

Effective July 8,2002 at 8am Pacific Standard Time, Pro-Comm will be changing the servicing central station for your alarm system.  As you might recall we took over the servicing of your alarm monitoring back in August of 1999 when Specialty Systems, Inc. owner’s decided to sell their business.  Up until this change, we have maintained the monitoring at the same central station that Specialty Systems used, Chubb Security formerly known as Secure Services.  We are making this change in an effort to simplify and serve all our customers better by consolidating our customer base into one central station.   When completed, your monitoring will be handled by The Alarm Center, Incorporated.  The Alarm Center is a local company and has an excellent customer service record.  The Alarm Center, Inc. has been our primary monitoring station for over 10 years.  We think you will be pleased with the change.  Your passwords and contact information will remain the same, however, your system or account number will change.  Please reference the enclosed decal with your new account and phone numbers.  Relocating from Chubb’s central station to the Alarm Center’s is primarily a behind the scenes change and should appear invisible to you.

There are only three things we ask of you:

  1. Please use the Alarm Center phone number to cancel any false alarms or to put your system on test.

800-752-2490

  1. Please test your system’s monitoring some time shortly after July 8, 2002.  You can read how to test your system at our web site at the following specific page www.Pro-Comm-online.com/chubb_to_ac.htm.  If you do not have access to the internet please contact our Service Coordinator, Rich Adams at extension 110, he will assist you with how to perform this test or send our written instructions if you prefer.  If for some reason your system fails to work after the changeover date, Pro-Comm will provide you with a courtesy no-charge service call.

  1. Please post and reference the enclosed decal with your new phone and account numbers.

Pro-Comm remains your billing and service company.  For future service, add-ons, or upgrades please contact the service department at Pro-Comm at: 1-800-774-9099

Sincerely,
